On 28th January 2017 Pete Stewart from 20Schemes will be our speaker at our anniversary EQUIP conference. But who is Pete Stewart?
Pete Stewart was born in Newtownards Hospital in February 1986. He spent the first eight years of his life in Bangor, Donaghadee and Lisburn before moving to Scotland with his mum and step dad in December 1994, where he has lived in and about Glasgow ever since. He is regularly back in Newtownards where his dad and family still live. Having being taught the gospel from a young age, Pete remembers many times when he felt convicted of his sin and was made aware of his need of a Saviour. He was baptised in Strathaven Evangelical Church at the age of 16 to proclaim that Christ had indeed saved him. He embarked on a degree in Accountancy and Finance at Strathclyde University. After graduating Pete felt called to Gospel Ministry and worked for over 6 years as a youth worker for a Church of Scotland in Barlanark, a scheme in the East End of Glasgow. In August 2016, Pete left the Church of Scotland (along with his best friend Pete Bell) to plant a Gospel church in Barlanark with 20schemes which they hope to launch in April 2017. Pete is married to Lindsey and they have two young boys Joshua and Micah, with another baby due in March 2017.
